Trump Rally with Charles W. Herbster in Greenwood

The weather was just about perfect at the I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. for an outdoor rally with President Donald Trump. Around 2000-3000 people showed up to hear the 45th President speak, along with gubernatorial candidate Charles W. Herbster and a slate of guests that included MyPillow Spokesman Mike Lindell, NFL Star Jack Brewer, President of CPAC Matt Schlapp, and David Bossie of Citizens United. Guests at the rally came from all over Nebraska, including one young Donald Trump cosplayer name Steve Rhodes, who came with his father from Minden, Nebraska.

President Trump took the stage at 5:15 PM and gave an endorsement of Charles W. Herbster at the start of his speech. “He’s going to be elected as your governor and you’re going to send an incredible slate of true America-first Republicans to congress,” Trump said. Much of Trump’s speech focused on the 2020 election, poll results for a hypothetical run in the 2024 election, and criticism of the Biden administration. “Joe Biden and the radical left have turned calm into chaos, competence into incompetence, stability into anarchy, prosperity into poverty, and security into catastrophe. Otherwise they’re doing a fantastic job.”

Much of Trump’s speech also targeted fellow Republicans like Ben Sasse and Don Bacon, the latter of whom had a current primary challenger in the audience, Steve Kuehl. “I’m not endorsing one way or the other,” trump said, “I think Steve will probably do a lot better than people would anticipate. and I hear he’s working very hard. So good luck, Steve whoever the hell you are.”

The rally was held for gubernatorial candidate Charles W. Herbster, who spoke briefly midway through Trump’s speech. “I stood at Trump Tower on June 16 of 2015 when Donald J. Trump and Melania Trump came down the escalator,” Herbster said. “And I said to my wife Judy, ‘You have just seen the next President of the United States of America.'”

Other guests included Lt. Governor Mike Foley, former senate candidate Matt Innis, and congressional candidate John Glen Weaver, who is running in the Republican congressional primary in district 1.
