The Republican National Convention (RNC) is being held this week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where Donald Trump will formally accept the Party’s nomination for President. Nebraska 36 delegates were able to get front row seats for the event, just to the right of the main stage at the Fiserv Forum.
According to Stephen Bader, who has been involved in grassroots campaigns with several candidates in the Omaha area over the past several years, the delegates had Patrick Lee to thank for the front-row seating. Lee is a national operative and has been involved with Nebraska politics since 2017, including the Congressional Leadership Fund and campaigns for former Congressman Jeff Fortenberry and gubernatorial candidate Brett Lindstrom.
“This year, with the Trump Team, [Lee] was involved in strategy and logistics with multiple State Party Conventions around the country and for the RNC Convention,” Bader told me. “He arranged premier seating for the Nebraska Delegation as a treat for one of his favorite states.” Lee also played a role along with NEGOP chairman Eric Underwood in securing the Nebraska as one of the five states to sign the Certificate of Nomination for Donald Trump.
Nomination

During the formal process of the delegates casting their votes, Chairman Eric Underwood spoke to the crowd.
“I present the great State of Nebraska, the Good Life is our motto. Where agriculture, beef and corn, is the lifeblood of our economy; Where our medical field and University are amongst the top in the nation; But it is our People that embody a Nebraska Nice, modest lifestyle.” Delegation Co-Chair Jon Tucker then announced the delegation would allocate all 36 of its votes to President Donald J. Trump.
One Big Party
Delegates shared photos and videos from their vantage point of the convention festivities throughout the week. Sean George, better known online as the Beard Vet, shared a video a few feet away from Lee Greenwood performing on stage with the comment, “Is this a good seat?”
Terrence K. Williams, conservative comedian and proprietor of “Cousin T’s” pancake mix, also shared a video with Nebraska delegates on the floor, stating “Trump supporters are not dangerous — they are dangerously nice!”
Feature Presentation
Delegate and former gubernatorial candidate Charles W. Herbster is also Executive Producer for the film Trump’s Rescue Mission: Saving America, which premiered today at the Miller High Life Theatre. Several members of the Nebraska delegation were able to attend a private viewing of the film on Wednesday.
Donald Trump himself spoke at the event, one of his first appearances since the assassination attempt on Saturday. “This had been our best campaign, and then I got shot,” Trump said. “But I got lucky. God was with me … in many ways it changes your attitude, your viewpoint on life, and I think honestly I think you appreciate God even more.”
The former President is expected to give his acceptance speech on Thursday evening.
