The weather was just about perfect for a rally along Dodge Street on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2021. Around 50-100 people showed up to protest vaccine mandates, lining both sides of the busiest street in Omaha, as well as standing on the pedestrian bridge. The event was organized by Tim Davis of Freedom Rally USA and Allie French of Nebraskans against overreach. Participants waved signs and hung banners as a nearly speaker blasted music from rapper Bryson Gray, who recently appeared at Freedom Fest 2021.
Among the participants were two gubernatorial candidates — Theresa Thibodeau, who appeared during the first hour of the event, and Breland Ridenour, who appeared during the second hour. Several cars honked their horns in appreciation during the afternoon event, which is one of several protests held by both groups.
