“Welp… Add Me to the SWATTED List”
The post was shared on X on Sunday by Beard Vet, the Omaha coffee entrepreneur known for his conservative politics and support for veterans. He was among several conservative influencers targeted in “swatting” attempts over the past few days, including Stew Peters, Gunther Eagleman, Joe Pags Pagliarulo, and others.
“Swatting,” a term coined around 2008, is the act of making a false emergency call to provoke a heavily armed police response, typically targeting an unsuspecting victim.
“And everyone is fine and secure,” Beard Vet posted after the incident. “Thank you to the professionals who protect and serve our community at [the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office].”
Beard Vet has been actively involved in conservative politics in Nebraska, supporting gubernatorial candidate Charles Herbster in 2022 and sponsoring multiple Freedom Fest events. He has his own dedicated parking spot at the 88 Tactical shooting range and entertainment center in Gretna. He was also invited to Mar-a-Lago when Donald Trump announced his reelection bid in 2023.
Following the “swatting” incident, Beard Vet shared a snapshot of a business card from an agent of the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force on Monday afternoon. “They are going to catch you worthless f*cks terrorizing outspoken conservatives,” Beard Vet posted on X along with the photo. “We had a great conversation.”
On Friday, FBI Director Kash Patel took to X to condemn the sudden spate of swatting incidents.
“The FBI is aware of this dangerous trend, and my team and I are already taking action to investigate and hold those responsible accountable,” Patel wrote. “This isn’t about politics—weaponizing law enforcement against ANY American is not only morally reprehensible but also endangers lives, including those of our officers. That will not be tolerated. We are fully committed to working with local law enforcement to crack down on these crimes.”
