Kickoff rally for Choose Life Now 2026, the initiative to amend the Nebraska constitution to end abortion. Filed on January 22, 2025, and approved for circulation from February 7, 2025, to July 1, 2026, it aims to end abortion in Nebraska with no exceptions for gestational age, rape, incest, or broad “health of the mother” definitions, though it allows for carefully defined medical emergencies like ectopic pregnancy treatment. The initiative, rooted in biblical principles like Deuteronomy 30:19, encourages grassroots efforts through petition circulation in churches and communities, targeting the November 3, 2026, general election to establish a pro-life state.
