About Attorney General Mike Hilgers Mike Hilgers, Nebraska’s 33rd Attorney General (elected in 2022), is a dedicated public servant focused on protecting families, upholding constitutional rights, supporting law enforcement, and safeguarding natural resources like water supplies. A native of Omaha, he graduated from the University of Chicago Law School (where he served as an editor on the Law Review) and built a successful career as a litigator. After working at a large firm and clerking for a federal judge, he founded his own national litigation practice, growing it rapidly. Hilgers previously served six years in the Nebraska Legislature (District 21), including two as Speaker (2021–2023). He and his wife Heather have four children.
