Kirk Penner, a proud Nebraskan born in York, NE, moved to Aurora at age 7. He attended Aurora Public Schools and later graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in Business Administration. Kirk joined his family’s company, Penner Patient Care (now Penner Bathing), and became President, leading it to design and sell bathing systems across the U.S. and Canada. Active in his community, Kirk served 16 years on the Aurora Public School Board and is President of the Aurora Development Corporation. He advocates for returning local control to school districts and encouraging parental involvement in education, aiming to address concerns about state mandates.

Lisa Schonhoff is a dedicated and experienced primary educator with over 20 years of experience and a passion for student success. Lisa specializes in English Language Learner (ELL) instruction with a strong background in teaching math and literacy, making her an excellent candidate to represent District 3 on the Nebraska State Board of Education. https://www.lisafornebraska.com
